After a time of waiting Yvonne Mwale's album 'Kalamatila' is finally available. We celebrated the launch in style on Friday, 2nd March with a big party at Triniti Bar in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam. To make that night a real musical event two live band performed on stage. The program was warmed up by Malfred, who brought the crowd with his Reggae and Dancehall Rhythms in the right mood.

To release the album Yvonne was autographing the first copies of 'Kalamatila' for the almost 500 guests in attendance who came for the album launch. Thereafter finally Yvonne hit the stage and played a full 2 hours set and make the crowd dance and bounce. The feedback was amazing and this event will still be talk of the town for some time.

The 11-track album is published by Caravan Records and available on iTunes, Amazon as well as in all Novel idea shops in Tanzania and the Caravan Records shop at Makutano House.

The BBC World Service last week pick Yvonne Mwale as one of three female African artists to be featured in "The Weekend Strand". Harriett Gilbert and Rita Ray presented the single "Kalamatila" from the upcoming album with the same name, that will be released 3rd March this year.

For Yvonne this radio report is a source of motivation since it shows that the interest in her music is growing and not limited to the African continent only.

After the first single from my Yvonne Mwale's upcoming album "Kalamatila" is now the video for "Fight Like A Soldier" out on air. The video was launched at a screening organised by Caravan Records last Friday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The video was shot early this January at the Media in Motion Studios in Dar es Salaam, Some outdoor scenes where shot in Mikocheni and at Kawe Beach. Media in Motion then added some 3D computer animation and visual effects to the video. The production was directed by Matthias Krämer, Director of Media in Motion Ltd.

Over the next few days and weeks you will see the video on air all over East Africa, other countries will follow very soon.

It's official now: Yvonne Mwale has her first record label deal signed. Last week the contract with Caravan Records was signed. For Yvonne Mwale this is a big step forward in her career. She says: "It was a bit strange that I won my awards in 2009 without having a single song out there. Under my new management we finally recorded my album and I really love what we created here. By being signed by Caravan Records I expect to reach markets I couldn't reach on my own. From touring Europe I know that there is an interest in my music and I hope with the help of my new label it will be easier to reach these markets."
Caravan Records is an independent record label based in Copenhagen, Denmark with a representative in East Africa. They specialise in contemporary African music with a focus on distribution, management and events.

After plenty of night in the studio, dozens of hours recording if live instruments, mixing track by track and finally recording the master it's time for me to share our work with all of you. On Friday, the 2nd of March 2012 I'm officially going to release my album. We celebrate that in style with a big party at Trinity Bar in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam.
As guest will perform Mzungu Kichaa and Malfred, both with a full set live band. The setup promises a hot night with an energetic blend of Reggae, Dancehall but also some traditional and Fusion sounds.
The show starts at 20.00 hours, tickets are available for 10,000 TSh at the gate.
